The one i read and like was the podcast about the book “Holes.” What I liked in the podcast was it used quotes to make the story line in like a couple of minutes. Also they got into the character they were and they used music that fit so perfectly into the podcast that i felt i was watching a movie. I though that the length was good as well because it was about like two and a half to three minutes and it wrapped it up so well. It closed them saying where you could get the book. I liked how they did not tell me the ending and they said that if you wanted to find out what happens that you have to get it and read it for yourself. Honestly if I had not read it already I would have after that video.
# 4 Texting
1. What are your general thoughts about text messaging?
2. On average, how many text messages do you send a day? How many people do you regularly text message?
3. Does text messaging make a difference in terms of your ability to write well? How does text messaging impact your own writing?
4. What place, if any, does text messaging have in schools? In our language? In popular books, television advertisements, political campaigns, and movies?
5. How is text messaging changing face-to-face and spoken communication? What impact does text messaging have on communication?
I think that text messaging can be good and bad at the same time. Mostly beacause when people do it a lot they get faster and they might get faster at typing as well, but the bad thing is that most people who text do it so the grammer is not right and thats how they may type and write. I usually only send maybe two or three a day rarley do I send anymore but sometimes I can send like fifty. Also i only text like sven people, my family and close friends. Text messaging does affect how I write because I will want to not write out the whole word sometimes and/or just abreaveate words. I think it has no place except for our own free time. Mostly beacause its so distracting everywhere else. It makes it so much easier to talk with your friends but you dont have to see them i would preffer to see all my friend rather than just to send a text.

# 2 Sand Rail
Sand rail
It was a hot summer day when my father and I were just entering the dunes. We stepped off of the four- wheelers simultaneously. Then we started to walk towards the dune buggy. Then I stopped, and looked all around me. I saw dirt bikes, four wheelers, and the occasional dune buggy. But what made me stop was the sound of all of the engines; it was like a symphony to my ears. After a few second I saw my dad starting to get into the dune buggy. His face was nothing but a huge grin of excitement. The dune buggy was a navy blue with black leather racing seats. It was mostly just bars and seats. Before I got in I noticed the wind was picking up and was blowing the sand all over. It was perfect before then. I got in and fastened my seatbelt. I looked over and saw I single bead of sweat running down my dad’s bald head as he revved the engine. Today my dad wanted to jump a gigantic dune because this was our last day camping. I started to reach for the black bar in front of me that I hold on to so that way when we go fast, which we usually do, I have something to hold on to. But I pulled away quickly because the bar was like touching an iron. Except it was hot from being in the sun all day. As soon as I started to outstretch my arms again, this time with caution, I was barely able to wrap my fingers around it and we shot off like a bullet.
Usually I would have put on my goggles to keep the sand out of my eyes but I forgot this time. So I kept them closed. My dad being the way that he is, was turning left as much as possible so sand would cover me like a blanket. I could feel sand hit me all over; it was like being poked with millions of the ends of paperclips. My face got hit the most. I tried to open my eyes but then I went to a squint, as I looked over to see how fast we were going, I forgot there was no speedometer.
“Open your eyes you big baby.” My dad said whispering loudly trying to keep his mouth closed so no sand would get in. I looked over at him with a squint again and saw my dad with his goggles on. I said nothing. Then I felt we were going straight again so I slowly released the death grip I had on the bar because I knew we were coming up on the dune. I opened my eyes fully and my dad was looking at me and waiting for that moment and turned left. Sand was all over me. It was like a wave of sand that engulfed me completely. That’s all I remember about taking the buggy off that dune because I was too busy trying to get the sand out of my eyes. My eyes were red, with sand and anger. But I got him back. Although my dad thought it was really fun that day.
